"I Remember" è l'unione di due canzoni differenti che Damien aveva composto ai tempi dei Juniper. Come Damien racconta spesso, la prima parte (quella cantata da Lisa) l'ha scritta quando era innamorato di una ragazza e tutto sembrava andare per il verso giusto. Nella seconda parte, invece, il tono aggressivo ricorda il periodo in cui Damien è stato scaricato dalla ragazza, e la sua disillusione traspare dal testo che diventa sempre più pessimistico e arrabbiato.
Probabilmente Damien aveva intenzione di farne due canzoni diverse ma un giorno Vyvienne le ascoltò e gli suggerì di suonarle insieme.
Nel 2006, durante il tour in America con Fiona Apple, Damien dice che I Remember parla della stessa ragazza di The Blower's Daughter
